Why I built Chillwari.
A few years ago I went on a trip with friends. We played tourist, shared meals, ordered our own drinks. Easier to just split everything evenly.
I tried an expense app. Sign up first, then ads, then so many fields just to log a coffee. The whole thing felt like homework. I kept thinking I'd log it later.
I kept thinking: if only there was one that was just tap and done. So I built it.
No signup. No ads.
Common questions
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Yes. No ads, no subscription, no upsells. I'm not selling anything. If a paid tier ever happens, the core stays free.
Do I need to sign up?
Nope. Click the invite link, pick a name, you're in. Starting a trip works the same way. Sign in with Google if you want your data to follow you across devices and browsers.
Do all my friends need to use it?
No. Add a slot for each friend when you create the trip — they join via link whenever. Log expenses in the meantime. Not joined yet? Their share still counts.
Do you have a mobile app?
Yes — the iOS app is on the App Store. No install needed though: Chillwari still runs in any browser, and Android friends can open the link as usual or add chillwari.com to their home screen.
What if my friend opens the link in WhatsApp / Instagram?
In-app browsers (WhatsApp, Instagram, Line) and private tabs keep their own data, so your trips can look out of sync. Signing in from inside one won't fix it, because Google and Apple block sign-in there. Use the host app's "Open in browser" menu to move the link to Safari or Chrome, then sign in there. After that your trips follow you to any browser or device.
